The royally golden, easy-drinking brew also uses three noble hops, along with ‘Northern Brewer’: ‘Spalt’ with its mild fruity aroma, ‘Tettnanger’ with its grassy resinous notes, and ‘Hallertauer Mittelfrüh’ with its peppery aroma with nuances of a freshly mown meadow, which have long become classics in variations on a traditional Pilsner beer.
The delicate bouquet of Valmiermuiža Castle beer is dominated by herbal and resinous tones, under which a light and gentle malt base is revealed. The crisp taste is pleasing with a calm, subdued bitterness with a hint of honeyed meadow.
Castle beer is best enjoyed at a temperature of 5–6 ºC as an aperitif or with well-ripened cheeses, fresh salads, as well as chickenand seafood dishes.
